Mamie and I went to Canada. It was great. Maps.google.com showed us a little town named "Hope" north of the border on a river and surrounded by forests. When we googled the name of the town we found out that is has some cool railroad tunnels, a municipal pool, some gardens, and Rambo was filmed there 26 years ago. It sounded good and Mamie needed a break so we packed up the car and the kid and headed out. It was my first time to Canada. We picked up a hitchhiker along the way, stayed at a beautiful bed and breakfast, saw the gardens, and otherwise relaxed as we started reading "Don Quixote." On Sunday, we made some friends from church and ended the day spending it with the Reno Family and their parents.

Sounds like a great time, but what's up with picking up the hitchhiker? Don't you know you can get killed doing that?
Otherwise it looks like you had a dandy time.
So glad to see you guys posting again! Lucy is getting so big. Come to Provo to visit, we miss you! We moved right down the street from your old place and think of you as we drive by :)
The hitchhiker was totally John. We turned off the highway and he says, "Should we pick up this hitchhiker?" I said, "What?" and by the time I even looked up he had already pulled over and was rolling down the window. I was mortified. While sitting in the back with Lucy for that part of the trip, I planned our grand escape and/or defensive attack just in case she went psycho.
btw, deanna- how the heck do you like being a mom? we miss you too.
Mamie, that is too funny. I can totally see Johnny doing that and feeling perfectly OK with it. That's one of the things I love about him.
I miss you guys. Hope to see you soon!
Hey Mamie is your long lost friend- Janet! I have jioned the world of blogging and think it will be awsome to keep up with our crasy lifes!! Here's my address: http://garnergazette.blogspot.com
You little Lucy is so adorable! She looks like a little doll. I have to vote that she looks like her momie! Love ya lots!
Ok so I can't type apparently! Sorry for the many mistakes- geeze!
What a beautiful place! It must have been nice to jump in the car and take a quick vacay!
Johnny - NEVER DO THAT AGAIN! (the hitchhiker thing, not Canada) I'm serious. There is just no reason to put yourself in danger like that, especially with Maime and Lucy in the car. What if he had made you guys eat Twinkies?
Lucy: I LOVE that picture of her at the table! She's growing up too fast.
Canada: B. was just talking about how great Vancouver and British Columbia are; clean and considerate, he says. I think we miss the West! Gorgeous photos.
Hitchhikers: Sometimes a girl just needs a ride. (but I think that's generally bad advice)
Mamie! So glad you found me! You look fantastic. Your family is so cute! How old is your baby? When did you get married? When did you get back from the mish? Where'd you meet your hubby? Your little lucy is a sweetie. How fun! It's been so long. Glad you are doing well. Are you in Seattle? Hope you get this. I really had to scroll way down to find a picture of you! Take care!
